Release Checklist

This checklist outlines the steps required to complete a release.

This presupposes that a decision to release has been made by the project admins and the dev team, that a majority of issues recorded against the last release have been met OR the development schedule has been completed and minimal / basic testing has been completed by the team.

• First step will be to identify the release number and update the release string in the CVS branch.

• Review outstanding Issue Reports and resolve

• Complete Closed Issues listing on this wiki

• Complete What's New listing on this wiki

• Complete Release Notes on this wiki

• Generate Change Log

• Run final installation on existing system and brand new installation tests and ensure basic functionality

• Generate sourceforge package

• Create sourceforge news item

• Create hotscripts news item

• Create freshmeat news item

• Create story on http://www.dotproject.net

• Create announcement in Moderators Announcements forum

• Create announcement on http://www.saki.com.au front page

• Create announcements (as required) in personal blogs

• Create / distribute newsletter on http://www.saki.com.au

• Create / distribute newsletter on http://www.dotproject.net
