Release Checklist

This checklist outlines the steps required to complete a release.
This presupposes that a decision to release has been made by the project admins and the dev team, that a majority of issues recorded against the last release have been met OR the development schedule has been completed and minimal / basic testing has been completed by the team.
- First step will be to identify the release number and update the release string in the CVS branch.
- Review outstanding Issue Reports and resolve
- Complete Closed Issues listing on this wiki
- Complete What's New listing on this wiki
- Complete Release Notes on this wiki
- Generate Change Log
- Run final installation on existing system and brand new installation tests and ensure basic functionality
- Generate sourceforge package
- Create sourceforge news item
- Create hotscripts news item
- Create freshmeat news item
- Create story on http://www.dotproject.net
- Create announcement in Moderators Announcements forum
- Create announcement on http://www.saki.com.au front page
- Create announcements (as required) in personal blogs
- Create / distribute newsletter on http://www.saki.com.au
- Create / distribute newsletter on http://www.dotproject.net
