Files can be added via the following options:

• - new item - > File
• Files Module > new file
• View Tasks screen > new file

On the right hand side of the screen you'll see a link "Attach a File". Click on that link and dotProject will display a form to allow you to attach a file. For more details please refer to the Adding Documents / Files section of this manual. For more details on using the files module, see Files Module
