As of 2.0 SmartSearch is a new module which has been incorporated into dotProject.

It provides functionality for searching for words or phrases across an entire dotProject database and if you have parsers available, it can locate strings within attached files.

1 Enabling Smartsearch

The module can be enabled / disabled via the Module Management function.

2 Using Smartsearch

Select the SmartSearch module and a screen will be provided to allow you to search for words that can be located in all modules within dotProject.^[1]

Enter the string that you are searching for and dotProject will display a list of matches (case insensitive). Also wildcard searching is not supported.

Each of the matching options is a hyperlink - click on the link to go directly to the matching element.

1. ? Be aware that keyword searching in Files could be limited by the file search parsers that you have available on your operating system. See System Configuration for details.
